Why wasn't the Thames Ironworks pitchside flag being waved on Saturday? Has the union flag part of it offended somebody?

West Ham Ironworks flag us a wink to our countries sea fairing past, our origins and the Union Flag itself is synonymous with the club. So if the club is withholding it as not to cause offence (and they're probably not btw), then it should be challenged.

I cycle in order to keep fit after a series of operations. One of the cycling forums I occasionally go onto was advertising a cycling kit that had union flags on the front and rear (after all, it is our GB flag.) Some of the other forum users condemned it as being ‘too nationalistic!’ Sometimes I despair at how this country is going.
